Portrait of the Portuguese king John The First.
Technique: Oil on oak.
Author: Unknown.
Date: Circa 1434 - 1450 a.D.
Dimensions: 410 cm height x 320 cm width.

Property: MNAA ( Nacional Museu of Antique Art of Lisbon, Portugal).

Intervention done ( in January 2007):
Preventive conservation related to the visual aspect of the painting in the frame when displayed in the exhibition room.
The action was done solely in the placement of a thin wood strip from the back side of the panel, attached to the frame, to hide the gap visible from the front. The gap run rom top to bottom of the height of the panel, caused by the shrinkage of the panel along the ages.
