We inherited a side table that unfolds into a card table, then, with the addition of leaves, becomes a dining table for eight. This is a very clever, space-saving design that I don't think we could ever find again. Only problem--the finish was terrible. Miguel took care of that, restoring it to the full beauty of its walnut wood. ( David Fleming, 2017)
"I wasn't sure whether to have my mom's hope chest done or leave it the way it was when it was given to me. I visited Miguel's store and decided his work is fantastic and I had to see what he could do for me. AMAZING! His dedication, caring and understanding what the chest meant to me was obvious when he worked on restoring it. We love how it came out and plan to bring the rest of the set to him as soon as possible. Highly recommend him for his work and personality! Great to do business with him." J. Shipley, Edison, N.J. January 2014.

"What a beautiful job you did caning my grandmothers chair. I really feel like we have honored her memory. You are an artist. Thank you." Deidre Trama, Cranford, N.J. November 2013
"We had two antique children's high chairs which we left with Miguel on separate occasions. The first was my chair as a child but Miguel found that this chair was not made after 1905 so it could have been my grandfather's chair. He did a spectacular job of stripping the layers of old paint and refinishing it with a wood stain. After that result we took the second, slightly younger chair, which had a badly stained wicker seat. He cleaned the wicker seat and again stripped the wood and stained it. Miguel does wonderful work and puts his heart into his work. We will take other things to him." Bob & Georganne Brooks, Cranford, N.J.
"It was indeed a pleasure to work with Miguel Garcia at Heartwood Restorations in Cranford. Miguel restored an old three piece book case from the 1920's that had broken glass and been painted over by a previous owner. The finished product was unbelievable. Miguel also took the extra step to research the company who originally built the bookcase and told me a little of thehistory of the company and the industry at the time. Due to Miguel's painstaking efforts, the bookcase was moved from my basement to a visible place in my home. Thank you Miguel for a job well done", by Skip Winter, Cranford, N.J.
"Miguel is very personable and knowledgeable. He repaired an intricate back rest of an old dining room chair of mine. It looks better than it ever was and is more structurally sound. I would highly recommend his expert services. The experience of working with Miguel was a pleasure and I expect to do more business with him in the future." , by Kim Critelli (Linden, N.J.)

“Trabalhei com o Miguel Garcia no Instituto Português de Conservação e Restauro durante 4 anos e foi uma excelente experiência, tanto profissional como pessoal. Pela sua perícia técnica e honestidade, recomendo os serviços do Miguel Garcia para quem tem estima pela Arte e pelo Património. Com ele aprendi imenso sobre as propriedades físicas e mecânicas das madeiras. É mais um especialista de elevado nível que Portugal não soube aproveitar. Faço votos de muito sucesso ao MG.” December 9, 2012, by Frederico Henriques (Portugal).
