Child rocker, oak and maple. Full restoration in 2024.

Child rocker, solid bird's eye maple and other, with 4 layers of paint and weak old repairs.

Below the painted plywood panel adapted on the seat, it was discovered the original peripheral channel that had received pressed cane work. Therefore, it was decided to re-adapt a new cane panel to bring back the original look.
Final look with the original wood visible, stained with a medium brown tone and finished with a satin sheen.

Rocker, solid mahogany, caned seat and back.

Child rocker, walnut and birch wood, paper rush weaved seat.

Figured mahogany veneered rocker, traditional spring coil seat cushioning.
Intervention: Shellac damaged finish was removed to bare wood, then re-stained with an oil stain, then re-finish with protective top coating; structural reinforcement of the wooden battens that support the fabric tacking was done, using impregnation with acrylic resins and replacement of decayed pieces by sound wood; the left curved sled had been badly restored in the past, and part of it's length was removed and the shape was re-configured with a new piece of mahogany, joined with a bevel joint and reinforced with a couple wooden dowels.
